I actually LOL'ed at this video.
Safe for work (unless your work is a bandwidth wuss), but incredibly funny.

Local Sports Team off to slow start

Well, our softball team is off to a slow start. We're in the top tier of the intramurals teams, which means we're pretty elite. So elite, in fact, that there are only two other teams. We've played them both once, and lost each time. Last night's loss to the Dead Dogs (our nemesis for so many years) is especially tough, because we played quite well, held them scoreless during 3 innings, and ended up losing by only 3 runs. The good thing about having only 2 other teams to play against means we'll be playing each team twice more before the end of the regular season. Hopefully by then we'll have figured them out.

Slo-pitch Umpire, Cross-Promotion

Well, tonight I had my first two games as a Slo-pitch umpire. For some reason, I was pretty nervous before-hand. I know, lame, eh? I still get nervous before playing Slo-pitch (and definitely soccer), and these are the lowest of the low in intensity/meaning. They are the highlight of my sedentary life these days, though, so that's probably why.
Anyway, the games went great: no one complained too much, and no one got injured. Happy faces all around. Especially mine, because I made $30, whereas nowadays I could use every dollar possible.

Also, I'm famous! Chris H. mentioned me in his ultra-popular blog. w00t! Getting excited to see you in August, man! It'll be good to see you, and make fun of your midwest accent. Check out his blog from the link on the right. It's a great read.

ps. The "Andrew" listed on the right is my brother, who is spending the summer in Germany before coming home to grad school in Medical Physics. Us McDonald boys sure is smrt! I'm very jealous of all the fun he's having.

Go get it.
Add me as a contact (assuming you know my firstname.lastname, you've got me).

You'll need a mic (Mac users have one built-in, for PC users, a $2 one will work just fine), and for the sake of others, please use headphones (yes, your iPod ones will work).
If not, I'll be stuck listening to my voice in the background, meaning.
I can.

Canada Day Weekend

This past weekend, I went with Eric, Aaron and Myrlene to Jasper National Park. We ended up camping in Wabasso Campground. Pretty decent site, not enough old growth trees separating the individual sites, though. We mostly hung around the site, but we did end up doing a nice walk around Patricia Lake, and then checked out Athabasca Falls.
Pictures to follow shortly.

Things of note: Aaron's whittling project, Eric's love of Star Track, Myrlene's giggling during the card tricks, and my super-non-annoying snoring, which everyone commented as being a soothing white noise aiding them to a deep slumber.
